Growing up, not old. - Maldives (Day 1)

Best Blogger Tips
Growing old - insanely mandatory yet genuinely worth celebrating.  We have been planning Rachell's birthday party in Maldives for almost two months.  The two of us were partners in scrutinizing every detail of this crazy getaway.  Little did she know that we were also sneaking behind her back to prepare a memorable dinner on her special day.  I have secretly sent e-mails to our contact person in Holiday Inn Kandooma.  They were so helpful and made sure that they grant every request we had.

The dinner set-up was by the beach and since it was kind of dark, they placed lights near the table.  There were balloons, flowers and candles.  What surprised me the most was that they made a tremendous effort to dig a hole in the sand and placed candles spelling out Happy Birthday (A for effort!).  Dinner was sumptuous  and they had a complimentary birthday cake served for dessert.  A bottle of bubbly was popped to end the lovely dinner.

Check out the photos of that red-letter night.

Rach is one of the most important people in my life.  She is my soul sister, one that need not to ask to know if something's up with me.  That night was so special to us because I know how much she wanted to celebrate her birthday with her family.  Since we all work overseas, we became each other's family.  We have always been there for each other through great and tough times.  The delight on her face when she saw her magical dinner was indeed priceless.  I am happy whenever she is, and I just wish I could make her happier that night.  Rachell Ann Bonanza, I LOVE YOU with all my heart.  Happy birthday!  And by the way, you were damn right...nothing and no one could ever break us.
